Case Studies

The following are typical examples of the type of work we are currently undertaking:

Our Associates are working as Lead Professional Supervisors for Kingston University, supporting their MSc in Professional Engineering programme. Kingston was one of the first Universities to offer this route to Professional Registration for Chartered Engineers, developed in conjunction with the Engineering Council. Kingston currently has 38 registrants undertaking work-based learning projects that will ultimately lead to the award of an MSc in Professional Engineering, and then Chartered Engineer status following their Professional Review Interview. The first of these are due to complete their programmes in late 2010.

  • Aston University

In early 2010 Aston began enroling the first of its UK students onto its MSc in Professional Engineering programme. In addition Aston are evaluating the possibility of offering similar programmes to overseas-based students working for large multi-national corporations. KTA Consultants are working with Aston to support their MSc PE programme in both the UK and overseas.

  • JISC  -  BCE/CPD Project

KTA recently completed working on a project for JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee); helping with the design and implementation of an on- line skills assessment tool. Designed primarily for HEI Knowledge Transfer staff working in Business & Community Engagement activity,  and who wish to complete a personal skills assessment . When the project's completed, in the Summer of 2010, KT staff will be able to go on-line and assess their 'skills' level (based on V3 of the AURIL CPD Assessment criteria) and then access directed specific CPD content to help increase those required KT skills .
