Our Associates have all worked in both the private and public sectors, and in particular the Knowledge Transfer sector in Education.

   Alan Fitzgerald  -  Founder & Principal Associate

Alan has worked extensively in both the private and public sectors in a variety of senior management roles in business transformation including Information Technology and Systems, Web Site Development, Engineering Design and Manufacturing, Strategic & Tactical Marketing, Mergers & Acquisitions, Technical Consulting, Expert Witness, and Knowledge Transfer (KT).

Most recently he worked in the Enterprise Exchange for Kingston University, London - where he was responsible for the IT and Marketing for a number of their KT projects including WestFocus (www.westfocus.org.uk), KnowledgeLondon (www.knowledgelondon.net ), London Innovation Maps (www.londoninnovationmap.com ), as well as developing experiential computer-based games for basic business training (www.djlife.org.uk).

Having established Knowledge Transfer Associates in 2009 he has been working on assignments in Knowledge Transfer / Work Based Learning and CPD for Business Community Engagement. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the IMechE. Currently working as Lead Professional Supervisor for the MSc Professional Engineering programmes offered by Kingston University and Aston University, in the UK and Angola. He has worked for UK, USA and European based companies on assignments worldwide including North America, Europe, Far East, Australia and Japan.

  Johnathan Ling  -  Principal Associate

As a Chartered Electrical Engineer and Physicist, Jonathan has wide professional experience in Higher Education, has worked within the nuclear and electronics industries, and for professional engineering institutions. He has had a variety of senior management roles:

·         Director of regional science and technology centres.

·         Field Director of the Gatsby funded Engineering Education Scheme,

·         Director of Studies for physics and astronomy at a university.

.         Subject Reviewer for QAA.  

Jonathan managed the Academic Standards department at the IMechE. At the IET, he headed Accreditation and later was Director of Professional Development. Recently, he managed important aspects of the Engineering Gateways Project at the ECUK with a new work-based MSc in Professional Engineering. He is IET lead Professional Supervisor for such programmes being established at several universities.

He has worked with many UK and international companies and has managed operations in Cameroon, Middle East, Malaysia, Singapore, West Indies, South Africa, USA and Canada as well as in several European countries.

 

 Mike Seymour  -  Principal Associate

Mike is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who has spent most of his career in the oil & gas industry as an engineering design & research manager for both BP and British Gas Research.

He is an active member of the IMechE having served for a number of years as a member of the Academic Standards Committee and Chairman of the Academic Assessment Committee. The IMechE have now appointed him as a Professional Development Consultant to provide a range of support activities for potential members at all levels. He is also a Professional Development Mentor for students studying for the MSc in Professional Engineering at Kingston University.

Mike is an Industrial Fellow at the University of Nottingham, Chairman of the Industrial Academic Board for the Dept of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, London and a Visiting Professor in Mechanical Engineering at De Montfort University.
